U.S. Customs and Border Protection Offering  Students a Hands-on Experience

Boy Scouts of America Learning for Life and CBP

INTERNATIONAL FALL, MINNESOTA  ~~~~~  Octobe 5, 2022 (LSNews)  — U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Office of Field Operations will be holding an introductory meeting for the Explorer Program at the International Falls Port of Entry on Nov. 16, 2022, from 2 p.m.-6 p.m. CST. 

The Explorer Post is a partnership through Boy Scouts of America Learning for Life and CBP.  The Explorer Post is open to students aged 14-21who have completed grade eight.  The program provides young men and women the opportunity to gain real-world experience to help prepare for a career in law enforcement. 

Participants will work closely with officers from CBP and other law enforcement agencies to learn about law enforcement careers and techniques.  Activities will focus on giving students practical experience in areas such as interview skills, search and arrest procedures, vehicle searches, and various inspection techniques.  Explorers will learn and practice how to use law enforcement tools including handcuffs, weapons, fingerprint tools and more.
