Police called to the Victoria Inn regarding a female who had been assaulted

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO  ~~~~~~   July 22, 2021  (LSNews)  A 30 year old LAYTON PASCAL appeared by video from the Thunder Bay Jail this afternoon, Thursday July 22,2021 in Courtroom 105 for a consent release before Justice of the Peace Jerry Woods.

This is his 9th day in custody since his arrest

The allegations are that on July 13,2021 at 7pm, hardworking Thunder Bay Police Officers were called to the Victoria Inn located on Arthur Street regarding a female who had been assaulted.

TBPS Officers arrived quickly to find a woman with a bloody nose. The victim also had swelling and bruising around her eyes. Police investigation revealed she was struck in the face with a closed fist my a man.

A 30 year old LAYTON PASCAL of Poplar Hill was arrested and criminally charged with:

  • -assault

PASCAL also has outstanding criminal charges from a fire evacuation to Kapuskasing, Ontario on July 18,2019 when OPP were called to a hotel after a woman was punched in the face with a closed fist.

PASCAL’S 47 year old Bertha from Poplar Hill is on the line to act as surety director her son. She is staying at the Victoria Inn.

Justice of the Peace Jerry Woods agrees to release PASCAL on a $300 no deposit bail to go stay in the Victoria Inn, which is the same hotel as the victim.

But, PASCAL must stay in the same hotel room as his Mommy and isn’t allowed. out of hotel without his mommy.

PASCAL must stay 5 meters away from the victim and is ordered to have no contact. He must notify TBPS of any change of address.

He has another court appearance in August.

As per usual practice, the Director Of Communications at TBPS, along with his taxpayer subsidized media buddies are busy protecting these violent men and don’t care about female victims of violence.

The 44 deaths were a 40 per cent increase from 2017, a year in which Thunder Bay also held the highest provincial rate.

Between July 2017 and June 2018, nearly 3,900 naloxone kits were handed out by the Thunder Bay District Health Unit and local pharmacies,
