Fighting Walleye vs. Tbay Firefighters Charity Game

Fighting Walleye vs. Tbay Firefighters Charity Game

Saturday for Toys for Tots and the Rural Food Cupboard.

THUNDER  BAY, ONTARIO ~~~~~  December 17, 20922 (LSNews)  The Kam River Fighting Walleye are proud to announce, with our continuing partnership with The Thunder Bay Association of Professional Firefighters and Toys for Tots, we will be hosting a Charity game between The Thunder Bay Firefighters and The Kam River Fighting Walley

The night will start with our Santa Skate from 5pm to 6pm at Norwest Arena, followed by the puck drop for the game at 6:45 PM. Admission is free with the donation of a Toy, Non-perishable food item or monetary donation to support our Stuff the Bus fundraiser. We encourage everyone to come out and support this amazing charity. We will be holding a silent auction of 4 Christmas Jerseys, the winner will be able to have the jersey customized with their name. We will also be holding the first Valley Foods Turkey Toss; the winner will receive a turkey as well as a $200 gift card to Valley Foods

“This is a huge weekend for our organization as we look to give back to two charities very dear to our heart. Toys for Tots and the Rural Food Cupboard. Obviously, with the Red Lake Miners unable to make it here it has made this a much more difficult task. We are excited to announce that the TBPFF have accepted our challenge to play a game in support of these two charities. I know our community has a giant heart and will fill our arena and support these charities along the way. I would also like to thank our great sponsors who have provided monetary donations to Toys for Tots,” said Derek Geddes, President of The Fighting Walleye.

“When the Walleye asked us to get a team together and play in support of Toys for Tots, we started making phone calls immediately to make this happen. With many ex junior and pro players on the job we are eager to match up against the Walleye and raise a lot of money for the charities involved,” said Paul Penna - Thunder Bay Professional Firefighters Association
