Update:  Accused Arrested in Hilldale and Melbourne Roads Homicide

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO - March 30, 2019  (LSN) In the early morning hours of 30 March 2019 Thunder Bay Police arrested a local 41 year old male  Jeffrey Miller in relation to the Hilldale Rd. homicide of Robenson St Jean. . The male is charged with second degree murder and will appear before Court March 30, 2019.
 
The investigation continues and Police are still encouraging anyone with information to contact the tip line at 684-1055

 

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO - March 29, 2019  (LSN)  Thunder Bay Police Service officers were dispatched to the area Hilldale and Melbourne Roads just after 12:45 p.m. on Friday, March 29, for reports of an injured male.
Paramedics transported the victim to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre where he later died from his injuries.
Police are now investigating this death as a homicide and are requesting assistance from the public.

.The Thunder Bay Police Service has established a dedicated tip line as the investigation into a March 29, 2019 homicide continues.
Anyone with information about this homicide is asked to call 684-1055..

Thunder Bay maintained its title as the murder capital of Canada in 2018,  For the third consecutive year - and the fourth time in the last five years

 It has been announced again that Thunder Bay is the Murder Capital of Canada for 2018 in Canada for CMAs with populations between 100,000 to less than 500,000 people

Thunder Bay had the highest rate in that category with 6.38 homicides per 100,000.

It’s made Thunder Bay the highest per capita opioid death rate in Ontario.

The 44 deaths were a 40 per cent increase from 2017, a year in which Thunder Bay also held the highest provincial rate.

Between July 2017 and June 2018, nearly 3,900 naloxone kits were handed out by the Thunder Bay District Health Unit and local pharmacies,
