GERALDTON, ONTARIO ~~~~~  August 29, 2022 (LSNews)  Hardworking Greenstone OPP Officers have arrested a local woman again after an investigation into a breach of release conditions. 

It’s alleged that 35 year old ASHLEY SYLVIE FORTIER was photographed with her coaccused KELLY CHISHOLM at Joel’s Live Bait Shop at 1129 Main Street on August 19,2022 at 5:20pm.  There are allegedly witnesses to this. 

FORTIER was arrested yesterday, Sunday August 28,2022 and spent the night in custody at the OPP detachment. 

FORTIER was ordered released on $500 no deposit bail by Justice of the Peace Nancy Tulloch this morning, Monday August 29,2022 with conditions:

  • -no contact with coaccused
  • -do not attend 1510 Main Street
  • -do not participate in any lottery in Ontario. 

FORTIER has a future court date in Geraldton on September 22,2022

(GERALDTON, ON) - On April 24, 2022, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Greenstone Detachment officers were notified of a fraudulent activity that had been taking place at a business located at 1510 Main Street in Geraldton. The business is known as South End Conveniences. 

Further investigation revealed that an employee and member of the public had been stealing scratch and win tickets from the business and taking the winnings from the cash register. This had been taking place for over a year, with the total amount of stolen tickets and winnings amounting to approximately $60,000.

A 35 year old ASHLEY FORTIER of Greenstone was arrested and charged with fraud over $5,000, contrary to sec. 380(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC).

A 36 year old KELLY CHISHOLM of Greenstone was arrested and charged with theft over $5,000, contrary to sec. 334(a) of the CC. The accused faces an addition charge for fraud over $5,000, contrary to sec. 380(1)(a) of the CC.

Inside Edition sources indicate that ASHLEY FORTIER is the daughter of local drug dealer GUY FORTIER 

Both of the accused will appear before an Ontario Court of Justice in Geraldton on September 22, 2022.
