DRUNK PIKANGIKUM MAN GETS VIOLENT AT VICTORIA INN

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO  ~~~~~~  January 26, 2023  (LSNews)  Hardworking TBPS Officers were called to the Victoria Inn located at 555 Arthur Street West early this morning, Thursday January 26,2023 regarding a violent and intoxicated indigenous male. 

It’s alleged the suspect was on the second floor banging on the door of a room where he did not know the guest. 

Hotel security approached the suspect, told him he was unwanted & asked him to leave.  

The suspect allegedly grabbed the glasses of the face of the security guard and attempted to run away. 

The security guard gave chase and was able to get his glasses back. 

The suspect then tackled & assaulted the security guard while threatening to kill him. 

TBPS Officers arrived and arrested the suspect. While in handcuffs and being placed in the TBPS cruiser, the suspect kicked a TBPS Officer in the right leg. 

A 21 year old THEOREN SUGGASHIE (December 8,2001) of Pikangikum was criminally charged with:

  • -assault
  • -utter threats to cause death
  • -assault TBPS Officer 

SUGGASHIE has outstanding criminal charges by the OPP. 

SUGGASHIE spent the rest of the morning sobering up in a jail cell at Balmoral Police Station and was ordered released on $250 no deposit bail by Justice of the Peace Denette Ellard with conditions:

  • -no contact with victim 
  • -do not attend Victoria Inn
  • -report address to Red Lake OPP 

SUGGASHIE has a future court appearance on March 3,2023. 

TBPS Media Relations Coordinator Scott Paradis has failed to inform the taxpayers of Thunder Bay again.

The 44 deaths were a 40 per cent increase from 2017, a year in which Thunder Bay also held the highest provincial rate.

Between July 2017 and June 2018, nearly 3,900 naloxone kits were handed out by the Thunder Bay District Health Unit and local pharmacies,
