Shuniah Forty Miner bike Event

Thunder Bay

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO ~~~~~  September 6, 2022 (LNews)  The largest bike event in Northwestern Ontario is returning for 2022. The Shuniah Forty Miner
Presented by Tbaytel, is a mountain bike marathon cross country race with the 48 kilometer race as the feature. Last year we saw over 500 people in attendance and this year, with COVID restrictions lifted, the Blacksheep Mountain Bike Club is expecting quite a large turn out. The event takes place September 9th and 10th at the beautiful Kinsman Park on the trails in Trowbridge Forest in Thunder Bay, ON

Friday Night will include a whole list of activities for the family. There is a prerace meeting for all racers, a speech from local Olympian Graham Ritchie and after that we’ll be screening the animated movie The Bad Guys on a large outdoor movie screen. There will be food available from local vendors available. If
you’re tired from the long Friday you’ll be excited to know you are able to book a campsite atTrowbridge Camp Ground for the event! Stay close to the action and have a convenient parking spot
too.

The race begins Saturday at 11am with the 48 Kilometer race followed closely by the 24 kilometer race, the 12 kilometer race and, everyone’s favorite, The Mini Miner Race for the kids. During the race there will be plenty of activities for spectators to enjoy including a vendor village that will have local shops set up along with food and beverage vendors.

Saturday night after the race we will be throwing The ROCK’N’ROLL Fundraiser Afterparty. Local band The Honest Heart Collective will be playing on the stage for everyone to enjoy. During the show there will be lots of ways to donate to trails fund. The trails have taken a beating this summer so we’re going
to show them some love during the concert. "

This year we really want to focus on bringing in out of town visitors for the event. With our amazing trails nestled on the shores of Lake Superior this will become a destination event. It's our pleasure to play host with this amazing event and location. We also have the support of the community as evident from our large pool of local event sponsors. Last year was amazing and we're very excited to see how much we can grow this event." - Dave Valente Blacksheep Mountain Bike Club Events Coordinator

The event, organized by Blacksheep Mountain Bike Club, is quickly becoming a must attend event. We would not be able to host such an event without the support from many sponsors such as Tbaytel, Fresh Air, Rollin’ Thunder, 3Ride, The CEDC Tourism Event Fund and many more. #LSN_Sport  #LSN_TBay  #LSN_NorWest
