Freedom Convoy 2022 was well recieved entering TBay

It is now 150 Km long and last about 4 hours

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO  ~~~~~  January 26, 2022  (LSNews)  The Freedom Convoy was well-received when it started to arrive late Wednesday afternoon at Santorelli's Truck Stop with people lining up in support

According to the OPP Around 500...tractor-trailers and personal vehicles,  They left about two hours late this morning from Kenora ….the group is very split up….some are just coming through Upsala now at 4 pm. … they are planning on spending the night at Santorelli’s Truck Stop via Hwy 130….and some surrounding parking lots….

As for the morning….we are not 100% confirmed….we would prefer they go back down Hwy 130 and get back onto the highway however it just may be too congested to make that happen….so the local contacts are considering Arthur St. and then making a left onto Hwy 61 north to Highway 11-17 and continue eastbound.  Regardless of the route the OPP will be conducting traffic control at whichever intersection they are entering the expressway on…..  it will be very congested and we are asking the general public to expect delays and better off to avoid the area and take an alternate route to work.

No description available.Late Wednesday afternoon the Thunder Bay Police Stated:

The Thunder Bay Police Service’s Traffic Unit would like motorists and pedestrians to be aware of potentially significant traffic volumes on the city’s southside Wednesday evening and Thursday morning.

A convoy of vehicles that includes tractor trailer units is expected in the area of Arthur Street, from Highway 130 to the Thunder Bay Expressway, in the evening hours of Wednesday, Jan. 26 and the morning hours of Thursday, Jan. 27.

There is a great deal of support across Northwestern Ontario for the Convoy

Canada no longer one of top 10 freest places on Earth

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO ~~~~~  January 26, 2023  (LSNews)  Compiled by Canada’s Fraser Institute and the U.S.-based Cato Institute, this year's study finds that for the first time since 2012, Canada does not rank among the top 10 freest countries worldwide.

The index measures personal freedom — the rule of law, safety and security, identity and relationships, freedom of movement, speech, assembly and religion — as well as economic freedom: the ability of individuals to make their own economic decisions.

This year, Canada ranks as the 13th freest country in the world, down from 6th in last year’s ranking.
