Celebration Marks Completion of Affiliation, War Memorial Hospital

Now Named MyMichigan Medical Center Sault

SAULT STE MARIE, MICHIGAN  ~~~~~~   February 2, 2022  (LSNews)  Leadership, employees, providers and volunteers of War Memorial Hospital recently gathered to celebrate the completion of its affiliation with MyMichigan Health. The partnership makes the hospital the tenth Medical Center in the MyMichigan Health system.

To reflect the hospital joining MyMichigan, War Memorial Hospital has changed its name to MyMichigan Medical Center Sault.

“This is a very exciting time for our organization and our community,” said David Jahn, FACHE, president and CEO, MyMichigan Medical Center Sault. “A lot of work has gone into exploring our options, and ultimately choosing MyMichigan Health as our partner. We thank our board and leadership teams, and all those involved in the tremendous effort that made this affiliation possible.”

MyMichigan Medical Center Sault is a 49-bed hospital with 51 long-term care beds and 20 psych beds. The Medical Center employs more than 900 people and serves the Eastern Upper Peninsula by providing complete medical care including diagnostic services, emergency services, urgent care, orthopedics, rehabilitation, obstetrics, family medicine and many specialty services. MyMichigan Medical Center Sault has a long-term care facility attached to the main campus of the hospital and a standalone Behavioral Health Center in nearby Kincheloe, Michigan. MyMichigan Medical Center Sault also has many outpatient offices across the Eastern Upper Peninsula including lab, primary care and rehabilitation services.

“The Sault has an outstanding reputation for taking care of its residents and it is an honor they have joined our family,” said Diane Postler-Slattery, Ph.D., FACHE, president and CEO, MyMichigan Health. “Our partnership will only enhance that great relationship the Sault has established by providing enhanced services and the continued delivery of trusted, reliable and high-quality health care.”

In April 2021, the War Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees gave approval to move into a nonbinding letter of intent with MyMichigan following months of evaluating proposals from various health systems. A letter of intent was signed and an extensive due-diligence process was completed in October. Since that time, several integration meetings have taken place to begin the transition process to becoming a member of MyMichigan Health.

“We have been working closely with the MyMichigan Health leadership team to develop plans to integrate our programs and services. We will look to improve efficiencies where we can and remain committed to putting our patients first and proudly serving the needs of our community,” concluded Jahn.

Vancouver is a living, breathing example to the contrary – or perhaps more like a dying, gasping person. In his film Vancouver is Dying, Aaron Gunn demonstrates the rot of addiction and criminality that is destroying one of Canada’s most beautiful cities – and why it’s probably about to get even worse.

Convoy Bank Account Freeze Should Send a Chill Down the Spine of Every Canadian 3 December 2022

Convoy Bank Account Freeze Should Send a Chill Down the Spine of Every Canadian

Citizens should be afraid, be very afraid, to quote Wednesday Adams, but this is no joke

OTTAWA, ONTARIO  ~~~~~~   December 3, 2022 (LSNews)  At the Public Order Emergencies Commission Inquiry we heard a litany of reasons for the Trudeau government’s draconian decision to freeze the bank accounts of Freedom Convoy members. The careless nature of the order and along with the rationale for doing it, which you could, if you excuse the pun, drive a truck through, bespeaks a regime teetering on the edge of authoritarianism. It wasn’t enough that the Convoy’s crowdfunding sites that had raised well over $6 million from its supporters were shut down due to nefarious accusations that the Convoy was violent and being heavily financed by foreign actors in the US and Russia.
