THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO  ~~~~~~~~~   July 7, 2021 -08:30  (LSN)  Media Release   The Thunder Bay Police Service is requesting public assistance in identifying a suspect connected to an ongoing robbery investigation.

The incident took at the Circle K convenience store at 1315 Arthur Street East at about 8:50 p.m. on Wednesday, June 23. At that time a male had entered the store, approached the clerk at the cash register area and made demands for cash.

NORTHERN, ONTARIO  ~~~~~~   July 6, 2021  (LSN)  The Ontario government is releasing a new policy framework, the first of its kind in Canada, as part of its strategy for school boards to protect students from the heinous crime of sex-trafficking. With the goal of keeping children and youth safe from sexual exploitation, this new strategy and framework recognizes the critical role schools can play in combatting sex-trafficking. Sadly, the majority of police reported trafficking in Canada takes place in Ontario.

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO  ~~~~~~~~~   July 6, 2021  (LSN)  Hardworking Thunder Bay Police Officers were called before 2pm yesterday, Monday July 5,2021 regarding a disturbance at an apartment located at 277 Pearl Street

Officers located 2 unwanted black Souther Ontario males inside the apartment. The tenant did not want them there.

They allegedly had almost $3000 cash, along with almost $10 000 of fentanyl and crack cocaine in their possession.

  • The wildland fire hazard is high to extreme throughout most of the northwest region, with patchy areas of moderate and low hazard where rain showers have moderated fire hazard conditions.

Northeast Region

  • There were no new wildland fires confirmed in the Northeast region by late afternoon.
