LCBO says 'malicious code' may have compromised customer information

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO  ~~~~  January 12, 2023 (LSNews)  Just when LCBO customers in Thunder Bay and parts of Northwestern Ontario were switching way from in person shopping in LCBO stores because of the level of violence the LCBO announced in a media release today   LCBO has experienced a cybersecurity incident, affecting online sales through LCBO.com. Immediate steps were taken to contain the issue, including disabling customer access to both LCBO.com and our mobile app while we engaged with third-party experts to conduct a forensics investigation.

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO ~~~~~~  January 12, 2023  (LSNews)   Hardworking Thunder Bay Police Officers were called regarding a break & enter in Westfort yesterday, Wednesday January 11,2023.

TBPS Officers attended Apartment 325 at 230 Amelia Street West and learned a white male suspect had committed a break, enter & theft while on probation.

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO  ~~~~~  January 11, 2023  (LSNews)  Hardworking Thunder Bay Police Officers arrested two more drug dealers yesterday, Tuesday January 10,2023

Officers attended Apt 1B at 910 Northern Avenue and located a familiar white male suspect and a black youth.

The black youth gave police a false name.

The white male was on two different probation orders.

Sault Ste. Marie has over 2,500 fire hydrants across the city. Just like a car parked in front of a hydrant, snow can block a firefighter’s access and cause delays in an emergency.

In Northwestern Ontario Most thefts are by people driven by Drug users

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO  ~~~~~~  January 11, 2023  (LSNews)  Grocery theft has always been a major problem, but with food inflation as it is, shopkeepers now fear the wrongdoers more than before.

In December, some Ontarians visited stores in Trois-Rivières, Que. to steal $4,000 worth of meat. In Sherbrooke, Que. a man was arrested following a shoplifting incident a few days before Christmas, and two other people are still on the loose. They had stolen over $2,000 worth of groceries.

DORION, ONTARIO ~~~~~  January 11, 2023  (LSNews)  Constable: Tanya Brennen reported in a media release that on January 10, 2023 at approximately 5:00 P.M. members of the Nipigon Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Superior Emergency Medical Services (EMS), and the Dorion / Hurkett Volunteer Fire Department, with assistance from neighboring Fire Departments, responded to a two vehicle collision on Highway 11&17, near Dorion Loop Road, in the Township of Dorion.

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO  ~~~~~  January 10, 2023  (LSNews)   A 30-year-old RYAN MARION (March 27,1992) appeared by video from the Thunder Bay Jail today, Tuesday January 10,2023 to be formally arraigned on more criminal charges.

MARION has several outstanding break & enters that he is in jail for.

Thunder Bay Police allege that MARION committed a break & enter, causing mischief at the Columbus Center located at 301 May Street South on December 23, 2022.

It’s further alleged that MARION committed a break & enter, cause mischief at Bay Village Coffee on December 27, 2022
