WESTFORT WOMAN BEATER ARRESTED BY TBPS

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO ~~~~~  November 23, 2022 (LSNews)  Hardworking Thunder Bay Police Officers responded to an abandoned 911 call at 5:36am this morning, Wednesday November 23,2022 in the 300 block of Mary Street West. 

Officers found an indigenous female with cuts to her forehead & lip.  Upon further investigation, it was learned that a white male suspect had been drinking alcohol and became aggressive towards the female victim, punching her several times in the head causing the injuries.

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO ~~~~~  November 23, 2022 (LSNews)  Hardworking Thunder Bay Police Officers have made an arrest into the city’s 14th homicide of 2022. 

TBPS Officers initially responded to Thunder Bay Social Housing at 277 Pearl Street on Thursday November 17,2022 at 11:30pm where they found a deceased 37 year old male.

Vehicle stop leads to seizure of drugs and firearm

KENORA, ONTARIO ~~~~~  November 22, 2022 (LSNews)  Detective Sergeant Grant Cowles, in a media release stated Traffic stop resulted in Kenora Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers arresting and charging three individuals with drug trafficking and weapons-related offences.

 On November 21, 2022, members of the Kenora Detachment of the OPP conducted a traffic stop on Highway 17A. As a result of the investigation, three individuals from Manitoba have been arrested and charged and officers have seized illegal substances including suspected cocaine and fentanyl valued at approximately $6,500, as well as Canadian currency, a handgun, ammunition, and other items used in sale of illicit substances.

Ontario Improving Northern Road Safety

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO  ~~~~~~   November 22, 2022 (LSNews)   The provincial government is moving towards having Highway’s 11 and 17 cleared four hours faster than the previous standard.

“Our government is continuously striving to find ways to improve road safety, as evidenced by the new ‘ON Trans-Canada’ standard for Highways 11 and 17, which means Thunder Bay residents can drive more safely this winter,” said Thunder Bay-Atikokan MPP Kevin Holland.
