THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO ~~~~  June 4, 2020 - 13:30 (LSN)  Police Media Release States:  An investigation into ongoing drug trafficking activity that began in the fall of 2019 has led to the service’s largest-ever single fentanyl seizure in the Thunder Bay.

The Thunder Bay Police Service’s Intelligence Unit began an active investigation, which focused on an address in the 500 block of Van Norman Street, in October of 2019. Individuals identified via this investigation were believed to be supplying drug houses, commonly referred to as trap houses, throughout the city.

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO June 4, 2020 - 12:00 (LSN)   Police Media Release States:  Police have arrested a second accused, a 16-year-old youth from the Toronto area, in connection with the ongoing homicide investigation of Paul VIVIER.

Officers were originally dispatched to the Midtown Inn at 61 Cumberland Street North around 10:20 p.m. on Saturday, May 30 following reports of a disturbance and a seriously injured male.

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO ~~~  June 3, 2020  (LSN)  On the 29th of May 2020 at approximately 11:25pm a Thunder Bay detachment member patrolling in the Shabaqua area of Highway 17 area struck a moose that entered the roadway. The vehicle was severely damaged and the officer suffered minor injuries which they were treated for at  the Thunder Bay Regional Hospital and released a short time later.

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO ~~~~  June 3, 2020 - 11:0 (LSN)  Police Media Release States: The Thunder Bay Police Service has charged a youth in connection with a weekend assault that was captured on video and shared on social media.

The initial incident took place around 2 a.m. on Saturday, May 30 in the Current River area. A lone male victim was walking when he was followed closely from behind by a youth female accused.

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO  ~~~  June 3, 2020  (LSN)  On the 2nd of June 2020 just after 12:00pm police were advised of capsized boat on Drift Lake west of Thunder Bay. It was reported to police that one person on the boat who was not wearing a life jacket was unaccounted for. Thunder Bay OPP officers attended with a marine unit and located an unconscious male on shore who was transported to an ORNGE air ambulance.
