SIMON EVAN ANGECONEB USED A HARMONICA AS A GUN
JUST ANOTHER CRIME THE DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS AT TBPS DIDN’T TELL THE PUBLIC ABOUT. We really need a new Director

Provincial Crown Attorney Piera Pasloski and Defence Attorney Tyler Woods are also on the line with a joint submission for His Honour to consider.
ADMITTED FACTS
Hardworking Thunder Bay Police Officers were called on December 5,2019 after 11pm about a car hopper in the Winnipeg & High Street area. Officers arrived quickly and located a suspect. After a brief chase ANGECONEB was placed under arrest. He had stolen prescription medication on him. He was also on probation at the time. He’s guilty of possession of stolen property and breach of probation.
On January 1,2020 at 10:40pm SIMON ANGECONEB entered the Delta Hotel at the Marina and asked the front desk clerk for change. The clerk denied the request. ANGECONEB grabbed the clerk’s cell phone and pulled out a shiny object. He then told the clerk “STAY BEHIND THE DESK OR I WILL SHOOT YOU” The clerk thought it was a gun.
Thunder Bay Police Officers responded quickly with the K-9 unit. Surveillance video was reviewed while the K-9 went to work. ANGECONEB was quickly tracked down and the K-9 sniffed out the shiny object which turned out to be a harmonica. Review of surveillance showed ANGECONEB but Officers were unable to conclude what the object was on video.
ANGECONEB was on bail and probation at the time. He’s guilty of robbery and 2 breaches.
SENTENCING SUBMISSION
ANGECONEB has a 2 page criminal record starting in May 2017. He has convictions for assault, thefts, assault with a weapon, numerous breaches. Gladue factors are he’s from the Pic Mobert Reserve and had a lot of violence in his family. Both his parents drank alcohol.
Asked by His Honout if he has anything to say and ANGECONEB replies “I’m guilty, my actions are inexcusable and I’m sorry”
The joint submission is for 18 month global sentence minus enhanced time served. ANGECONEB has been in custody since January 1,2020 which equals 288 days enhanced. He has 192 days to serve going forward. He’ll be statutorily released in November.
He receives another 18 months probation as well as a DNA order and 10 year weapon prohibition.
Not surprising, the Director of Communications at TBPS never told the public about this Delta Hotel robbery. He’s really lazy.
