Paramount Live hits the stage with FAME the musical

November 23 to 26th 7 pm

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO  ~~~~~   November 23, 2022 (LSNews)  Paramount Live returns to light up the stage this season as they begin their theatre schools' public performances this week with Fame the musical.

An unmistakable title from the unforgettable film and television franchise, Fame The Musical inspired generations to fight for fame and light up the sky like a flame! Conceived and developed by David De Silva – now known affectionately to the planet as "Father Fame" – this high-octane musical features the Academy Award-winning title song and a host of other catchy pop numbers.

The show follows the final class of New York City's celebrated High School for the Performing Arts from their admission in 1980 to their graduation in 1984. All of the struggles, fears and triumphs – from prejudice to substance abuse – are depicted with razor-sharp focus as the young artists navigate the worlds of music, drama and dance.

Fame features a cast of 33 local young actors who are directed by a team of four to carry out this dance-filled musical. Directors Candi Badanai, Tegin Menei, Katherine Nemec, and Amanda Commisso have been busy crafting this show since September to get the cast ready for this moment. “These are some of the best talented young actors in Thunder Bay who are filled with vibrant energy taking on this fantastic production of the smash-hit 1980’s musical Fame” said Artistic Director Candi Badanai. “It was filled with some new challenges and the team worked hard to make it possible. We know audiences will love checking out this show.”

Performances for Fame take place until November 26th at the Paramount Theatre with a nightly curtain time of 7:00 pm. Tickets can be purchased in advance on eventbrite at paramountlive.eventbrite.ca/ or at the door the night of the show. They are $20. This is the first show of the season for Paramount Live.
