Shortage of children's over the Counter Drugs
THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO ~~~~~ November 2, 2022 (LSNews) Canada is experiencing an ongoing shortage of children’s off the shelf pain medication (Ibuprofen and Acetaminophen). In response, Border Giant will be offering our parcel receiving and importation service to Thunder Bay for a nominal fee of 50 cents.
In order to assist parents with first finding the product locally, we have created a list of local pharmacies and their last reported stock of the products in question. This list will be actively updated with report information received from the public and pharmacy staff.
Border Giant is a Thunder Bay based customs broker, freight forwarder and commercial transport company with a receiving address in Grand Marais, MN. Our main activity has been creating software that will help streamline the import and export process for individuals and small businesses. We do not normally facilitate the import of prescription, over the counter or off the shelf products. This offer is a temporary exception to our policies and will remain in effect until the local supply of children’s pain medication stabilizes. This offer applies to personal importations only.
A full list of the requirements for this offer and for Health Canada’s requirements can be found at www.Medicine.BorderGiant.com.
Our offer will allow parents to order the medicine from US based sites like Amazon.com, Walgreens.com, CVS.com or Walmart.com and have it delivered to a legally registered US address (our location in Grand Marais) or to Ryden’s Border Store. These US based sellers would not be able to ship directly to Canada. From there, we will import the shipment to Thunder Bay in full compliance with all relevant Health Canada and Canada Border Service Agency regulations and make it available for pickup by the customer.
