FORT HOPE MAN ARRESTED AFTER VIOLENT GUN INCIDENT

FORT HOPE, ONTARIO  ~~~~~~   January 20, 2023  (LSNews)  Hardworking Nishnawbe Aski Police Officers have made an arrest after a violent incident on Wednesday, January 18, 2023. 

It’s alleged that an indigenous male on bail had had assaulted two females and pointed a gun at a third woman. 

The male suspect was on bail conditions:

• -to reside at 436 Ooshag Crescent 
• -curfew 10pm to 6am
• -no weapons 

A 40 year old JONATHON PETER GEESIC was criminally charged with:

• -assault female X 2
• -point firearm at female
• -possession of firearm for purpose dangerous to public
• -breach of bail X 3

GEESIC has several outstanding criminal charges. 

GEESIC was held overnight at the NAPS detachment and transported to the Thunder Bay Jail today, Friday January 20,2023. 

GEESIC has a court appearance scheduled on Tuesday January 24,2023.
