SIOUX LOOKOUT OPP AND SIOUX LOOKOUT BOMBERS TOY DRIVE

Sioux Lookout Bombers at their home game versus the Thunder Bay North Stars

SIOUX LOOKOUT, ONTARIO  ~~~~~  December 6, 2022 (LSNews)  Constable S.Lee announced in a media release that On Thursday, December 8th, 2022, members of the Sioux Lookout Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Sioux Lookout Bombers Jr. A team will be teaming up to collect new unwrapped toys and non-perishable food items in support of the First Step Women's shelters annual stuff a cruiser event.

Fans are encouraged to come support the Sioux Lookout Bombers at their home game versus the Thunder Bay North Stars. Fans are asked to bring a new unwrapped toy or a non-perishable food item in exchange for a free hot beverage from the Terminal Concession Stand. Monetary donations will also be accepted. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with puck drop at 7:30 p.m.. 

This event helps to ensure that every child in our community has a wonderful holiday. Each holiday season, First Step Women's Shelter supports over 100 children in Sioux Lookout. 

We look forward to seeing you at this event. We appreciate the support to help ensure that every child in our community has a magical holiday.

Our jurisdiction extends from the eastern border of Manitoba to the northern border of the State of Minnesota, to Hudson’s Bay in the north and White River to the east. The region includes three districts (Kenora, Rainy River and Thunder Bay) and is divided between eastern and central time zones.     THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO ~~~~  December 26, 2022 (LSNews)   On December 14, 2022,  Monte McNaughton, Minister of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development. “That’s why our government is the first in North America to require naloxone kits be accessible in at-risk workplaces by June 1, 2023, to raise awareness for those struggling with addiction, reduce stigma and save lives.”

    In 2021, 2,819 people died from opioid-related causes in Ontario – the highest number on record and up from 366 in 2003. Naloxone is a life-saving medication that can temporarily reverse an opioid overdose, restore breathing within two to five minutes, and allow time for medical help to arrive.
