Sensational Hot Rods at Chippewa Park

Final Sunday in the Park

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO ~~~~~  September 1, 2022 (LSNews)  The Friends of Chippewa Park announced today that the final Sundays in the Park Concert series will feature the Sensational Hotrods, one of the most popular entertainment groups in Northwestern Ontario.

We are excited to have the Hot Rods on our Pavilion Stage as the final act in the summer series” said Friends President, Lorraine Lortie. “As a consequence of being forced to cancel Family Fest 101, we have enhanced our summer concerts to ensure that the public was able to hear and see an increased number of groups” she said.

Lortie also noted that as far as the Hot Rods are concerned, their performance on Sunday is one of the few times that the public can see and hear them without having to pay an entrance fee.

The free, outdoor concert will run from 1 pm to 3 pm on Sunday, September 4 and will be held rain or shine. Spectators are asked to bring their own lawn chairs.

“One of the strengths of Chippewa Park is our ability to move our concerts inside the pavilion in case of inclement weather” said Lortie.

CP Holiday Train returns in support of community food banks after two-year hiatus

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO  ~~~~~~   October 13, 2022 (LSNews)  The Canadian Pacific (CP) Holiday Train will return to the rails this season on its first cross-continent tour in three years, following virtual concerts in the pandemic years of 2020 and 2021. The train will again raise money, food and awareness for local food banks in communities along the CP network.

"I'm grateful to the CP team members who adapted during the COVID-19 pandemic to deliver two exceptional virtual Holiday Train shows and to all those who continued to donate while we kept community members safe," said Keith Creel, CP's President and Chief Executive Officer. "The Holiday Train is all about families and communities coming together to celebrate the season and help those in need. We are excited to be back out on the rails and in our communities, taking these two beautiful trains across our network and sharing the joy that comes with gathering in the spirit of giving."
