CALL FOR ENTERTAINERS FOR FAMILY FEST 101

CALL FOR ENTERTAINERS FOR FAMILY FEST 101

Friends of Chippewa Park announced today

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO  ~~~~~~  April 5, 2022 (LSNews)  The Friends of Chippewa Park announced today their call for entertainers for Family Fest 101 a five-day festival being held at Chippewa Park on July 28 through Aug 1 this summer.

Friends President Lorraine Lortie indicated that a broad range of entertainment will be presented over the 47 hours of festival operation. “We are looking to present the best that Thunder Bay and area has to offer, with a broad range of genre” said Lortie “In addition to the normal mainstream entertainment such as, but not limited to, folk, rock, blues, jazz, rap and classical, we also want to celebrate the Indigenous and Ethic traditional music and dance.”

The festival will be a celebration of Thunder Bay, its history, arts, culture, and people. The main stage component will feature upwards of 40 acts - all local in origin. Buskers and street performers will be engaged to provide entertainment throughout the park and a major fireworks display will be held on the Sunday evening. There will be a children’s area where musical performances will be featured along with a variety of games and activities including a “catch and release” fish derby.

The organizers are also looking for comedians, buskers, street performers, clowns and children’s entertainers.

The Friends of Chippewa Park are also seeking musical acts for their Sunday in the Park Concert series.

Interested individuals and groups are invited to register with The Friends of Chippewa Park at www.chippewapark.ca/entertainers.

The main stage will be located on Field 1 and we will be using the small City of Thunder Bay stage.

Maverick Entertainment will provide lighting and sound for the festival. We expect thousands to attend. Family Fest 101 will start on Thursday, July 28 and end on Monday, August 1. There will be no admission charge for the public, but we are not looking for the entertainment acts to volunteer their time and talent. All acts will be paid for their performance. If you are interested in being one of the acts to perform on our stage, please click on below, then fill out and submit the application form.

We aim to have the lineup ready to go by mid-April.
