Thunder Bay CEDC Board of Directors welcomes new Board Member

Welcome Rob Frenette

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO  ~~~~~   June 18, 2022 (LSNews)  The Thunder Bay Community Economic Development Commission Board of Directors are pleased to announce the appointment of Rob Frenette to the Board of Directors.

“On behalf of the Board and staff I would like to welcome Rob Frenette to the Thunder Bay CEDC, and look forward to working together for the benefit of Thunder Bay's economic development," says Peter Marchl, Chair, Thunder Bay CEDC Board of Directors. “His vast experience and knowledge in developing the northwest will be a strong asset to our organization. His presence will provide a new perspective to decisions and initiatives further supporting our work in developing Thunder Bay’s economy.”

Mr. Rob Frenette, P.Eng is a Consulting Engineer licensed in the Province of Ontario.  Rob is past President of TBT Engineering Limited (TBTE), a role he served for over 25 years, and he currently serves in the capacity of Managing Director for TBT Engineering Consulting Group, a company of more than 100 employees. 

Rob has 30+ years of experience in civil engineering from planning through to contract administration. Rob has a strong background in total project management, construction and road design, surveying, environmental and materials engineering. He has expertise in multi-disciplinary design coordination, project management and contract administration of projects for public and private clients.

Rob has successfully managed thousands of engineering and related technical projects across Northern Ontario, and Western and Northern Canada ranging in construction value from $10,000.00 to $100,000,000.00.

As Managing Director of TBTE, Rob is actively involved with development and sustenance of business and partnership opportunities.  TBTE’s partnership initiatives have led to the formation of several Indigenous partnerships (GP/LP’s) as well as numerous Joint Ventures (JV’s) and Memorandums of Understanding (MOU’s) with various First Nation communities, groups and businesses throughout Northwestern Ontario.
