BRENT PARK STORE ANNOUNCES CLOSURE AFTER 113 YEARS

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO  ~~~~~~~   September 27, 2022  (LSNews)  Since 1909, Brent Park Store has been serving Thunder Bay. First as a general store, and then a deli in 1961.

In February 2020, just prior to the Covid pandemic, the store moved from its original Brent Street location to a larger location at 106 High St. North (the corner of Van Norman). But after 113 years, the store will be closing on November 12th

Current owner Paul Trevisanutto who had worked at the store since 2012 and later purchased the store in 2014 from the Willmann family, said the decision to close is a difficult one. “We made the move just as the pandemic was shutting down businesses, and although we were able to serve more customers in the new location, it simply wasn’t enough to continue”.

Trevisanutto admits inflation and supply chain had been difficult over the past year, with many of the specialty products their regular customers count on were becoming more difficult to bring in

“On behalf of my family and staff, we’d like to thank all of our loyal customers for their patronage”, said Trevisanutto.

In the coming weeks the store will be selling all of it’s remaining inventory along with the fixtures and supplies
