Superior Theatre Festival Unveils their 6th season in Thunder Bay
THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO ~~~ July 13, 2022 (LSNews) Superior Theatre Festival is back, fully live and in-person, after two years. From July 21st-24th our sixth annual festival features movement and improv workshops, two performances of the interactive modern dance piece “Possibilities of Dialogue” at Magnus Theatre, and a weekend full of local talent in the Spirit Garden, all presented with the unifying theme of “Rise Together”. https://www.superiortheatrefestival.com/
POSSIBILITIES OF DIALOGUE on the Magnus Theatre stage 7:30-8:30pm Thursday July 21st and Friday July 22nd Inspired by the parallels between making a dance and having a conversation, Possibilities of Dialogue is an abstraction of a collaborative creative process; with moments of listening, curiosity, disagreement and spontaneity unfolding through movement and text. This modern piece features choreography by the performers, David Norsworthy and Marielis Garcia, and music by Brad Wentworth and Noah Malcolm, with outside eye Francesca Chudnoff. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit https://www.superiortheatrefestival.com/possibilities-of-dialogue. Audiences can get $5 off all tickets they buy online with promo code DANCER5
ABOUT THE ARTISTS: As a choreographic duo, David Norsworthy and Marielis Garcia are inspired by the inevitable incompleteness of process. Driven by choreographic questions, they seek to undo the conventions of dance performance by cultivating unique situations that invite contemplation and connection. Their hope is that the community will engage in this new artistic experience.
