Enjoy a weekend filled with action, drama and suspense! Visitors will experience an exciting battlefield sequence highlighting 19th century battlefield combat and strategy, learn about life as a soldier, watch period medical techniques in action, and get pulled into the drama by interacting with Fort William’s costumed inhabitants. Visitors can also try their hand at axe throwing, firing a historic musket and paddling a historic canoe along the Kaministiquia River. Children will be able to join in army drills and make crafts.

August 10, 2019 – (LSN)As the federal government’s Advisory Council on the Implementation of National Pharmacare calls for a universal, single-payer system for prescription drug coverage in Canada, a new report from the non-profit Angus Reid Institute – part of its ongoing series on access to and perceptions of health care among those ages 55 and older – finds a significant number of Canadians this age struggling to afford prescription medications.

Public invited to comment on special fishing regulations

During a series of 17 public meetings, anglers and others can give their opinions about proposed 2020 changes to special fishing regulations for 30 lakes.

These proposed changes are coming from 13 Minnesota Department of Natural Resources area fisheries offices. These regulations are designed to help meet fisheries objectives for particular lakes and would be different from the regulations that apply statewide or to major zones of the state.

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO -  August 16, 2019   (LSN)  When one thinks of Studebaker, though they had Indy 500 entries, most  usually don’t think of race car. Studebakers did however win a lot of races on our local tracks! When the Late Model class was formed, cars had to be no older than 10 years. The popular choice had been the 55-57 Chevy’s, with spark plug lining up with the ball joint, was considered a natural race car. By the late 60’s, they became too old, creating a dilemma for those racing them.
